I’m very loyal to my winter wardrobe because I love layers and jumpers and all things oversized. However, as a human who naturally runs a few degrees warmer than everyone else, I need to accept that summer needs its own wardrobe.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from Topshop for the warmer weather.
This swing dress in blush is perfect for those warm days when you still need to look like you’ve made an effort. The swing style will keep you cool, and the lattice detail will add interest to the look. £22
Similarly, this dress is perfect for occasions during the summer. This would be a nice barbecue outfit, I think, since it’s pretty and looks like you’ve put time into the outfit, but really it’s just a throw on piece. £36
This cropped shirt is lightweight and unbelievably soft. The texture paired with the light colour makes this the perfect summer piece to throw on over high-waisted shorts or a denim skirt. £29
Peplum will always be a summer favourite of mine because it is floaty, breathable and effortlessly chic. This shirt has an additional hook and eye detail which makes it extra cute. £15
Again, this tee is casual but still chic. This would be the perfect shirt to pair with culottes, or maybe a cropped dungaree for a chilled vibe. £14
For once, I’m not actually a fan of this co-ord set, but I think the shorts on their own are super cute. £45
This soft peplum camisole seems very basic, but I think it would make a perfect summer staple to throw on during rare hot days. This shirt comes in many different colours, my favourites are the ‘mink‘ and ‘nude‘. £16
Denim and florals are always perfect for the summer, so this skirt is a definite win for me. Unfortunately this exact style isn’t on the Topshop site anymore, but this skirt is very similar. £36
These shorts are so pretty. I love the style, the painted floral detail, and even the rip detail towards the hem. I can see myself pairing these with one of the peplum camisoles, or the casual button down already mentioned above. £34
This tie shirt may be my favourite piece in this entire post. Yes, it is long-sleeved, but with a British summer that isn’t such a negative thing. I love the colour and style of this shirt, I think overall it’s just a really interesting piece. £34
Finally, I like this floral jumpsuit a lot. This would be the perfect summer wedding outfit, I think. Something about the light blue with the yellow floral pattern makes me very happy. I think it’s a gorgeous piece and wouldn’t be too warm for even the hottest summer day. £42
So those were my summer picks from Topshop at the moment. Stay tuned for my Thailand picks, since I need to start planning what I’ll be wearing when I go in September.
